This spring we started a new project with Coventry City Council as part of their digital transformation programme.
Within this, Coventry City Council is refreshing their approach to resourcing and wanted to consider how TalentLink will support their transformational plans as well as maximising their use of the system.
Nicola Warner and Dean Lathbury have been working closely with Coventry City Council (CC) colleagues to redesign workflows which include a manager self-service provision.
Dean gives an insight into the project: “As well as making the requested changes the resourcing team at Coventry CC also wanted to improve their system knowledge.
“To help them to do that we have designed a “supported build” methodology for the project.
“This breaks down the configuration of the TalentLink processes into bite-sized sessions and allows the team to be trained on specific areas and then immediately configure the system themselves.
“This has been an effective approach and one we may wish to use elsewhere.”
The team are nearly at the end of the project as the training and initial configuration phase has been successfully completed and the testing period is well underway.
The next stage is the automation of employment contracts.
Dean concludes: “Both Nicola and I have felt very much part of “Team Coventry” on this project and have enjoyed playing a small part in the council’s digital transformation.”
Julia McGinley, Digital Transformation Manager at Coventy CC, said: “We are progressing well with our digital transformation project, Dean and Nicola’s support has really helped us shape our workflows and use of TalentLink.”
